Engineering Department:
The Engineering department at PracticeTek is responsible for designing, developing, and scaling our SaaS platform to meet the needs of thousands of healthcare providers. Working closely with Product and Design teams, Engineering ensures the seamless delivery of performant, secure, and cost-effective software solutions.
The Engineering team is responsible for the foundational infrastructure, security, and reliability functions that support all PracticeTek products and staff. This includes cloud architecture, observability, cost efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements like HIPAA and PCI.

As the Director of Information Technology, you will lead the strategic and operational direction of our IT function, overseeing infrastructure, systems administration, helpdesk, cybersecurity and vendor management. - Lead the IT function, including infrastructure, cloud operations, cybersecurity, end-user support, and enterprise applications.
- Develop and execute an IT strategy aligned with organizational objectives, growth plans, and security requirements.
- Oversee system architecture, IT operations, and technology governance with a strong emphasis on automation, and scalability.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other applicable standards and implement security best practices.
- Manage relationships with vendors, service providers and internal stakeholders to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and compliance teams to support SaaS delivery models and ensure operational readiness.
- Build and mentor a high-performing IT team with a focus on innovation, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Establish and manage IT budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
- Define KPIs for system uptime, incident response, support SLAs, and project delivery.
- 10+ years of experience in IT operations or infrastructure leadership roles, with at least 3 years in a senior management capacity.
- Strong expertise in Azure infrastructure and cloud-native technologies.
- Deep understanding of networking, identity and access management, endpoint management, and enterprise security.
- Proven ability to lead IT initiatives in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, finance).
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), CI/CD concepts, and modern monitoring/logging stacks (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience managing IT budgets, vendor contracts, and cross-functional teams.
