The RCM Department: For us at PracticeTek, executing on RCM means understanding customer needs and becoming excellent at meeting them; we ensure practitioners are paid quickly and accurately.   The Vice President of RCM Operations will lead the entire revenue cycle operations function of a dynamic and rapidly growing retail healthcare RCM business.  This senior leader will lead a team of internal staff and oversee relationships with key vendors, including off-shore.  The VP of Operations will be an innovative leader who drives continuous process improvement, automation and efficiency, while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and improving key RCM performance indicators (KPIs).  As the key leader and evangelist of our RCM services, the successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills to collaborate with Sales/Marketing to reach new clients, provide thought-leadership to current clients and the market in general.
The Career Opportunity: An ideal candidate has 10+ years’ experience as a Revenue Cycle leader, including knowledge of all facets of successful Patient Access/Registration, Financial Clearance, Billing, Insurance Follow-up/Denials and Patient Collections. It is important to have held for 5+ years a role interfacing regularly with the Doctor and/or Owner of a small practice and 10+ years supervising 25 or more employees. Financial acumen to forecast, budget and manage a P&L is required.  You must have strong sales enablement experience in pricing, prospect targeting, presentation, writing and communication skills.  As RCM is a dynamic business, experience in launching new services from concept to client engagement is required. Small provider practice experience is required.  Health IT experience in the RCM space and vendor management experience is preferred.

Job Duties:
  • Provide leadership and direction to the entire RCM production operations team including onboarding, clearinghouse vendor relationships, billing, posting and AR follow up, both internal and off-shore
  • Identify, develop, and execute strategies to improve key RCM KPIs such as denial rates, aging AR, net collection rate and client satisfaction/NPS
  • Ensure RCM vendor performance, including offshore vendor(s), including monitoring contractual commitments, RCM KPI performance and remediation of issues
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to drive the adoption of new technologies and best practices across all RCM functions
  • Develop and execute on a roadmap of continuous improvement in revenue cycle processes, addressing gaps in operations and improving efficiency
  • Optimize financial performance for clients and align with the company’s goals
  • Oversee all aspects of financial performance related to RCM including cash collections, patient payments, denials and accounts receivable management
  • Track, analyze and report on key RCM metrics to executive leadership, identifying trends and making data-driven recommendations to improve performance
  • Closely collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting related to revenue cycle activities
  • Closely collaborate with Sales and Marketing to increase competitiveness of messaging, proof points, testimonials
  • Ensure all RCM activities adhere to federal, state and industry regulations including HIPAA and other patient confidentiality laws in collaboration with the Sr Director of RCM Compliance & Quality including maintaining audit processes to identify and mitigate risks
  • Identify and develop expanded RCM services including identifying technology requirements, staffing plans, financial projections required for a compelling business case
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years background in revenue cycle management
  • 10+ years management experience supervising direct employees including large-scale operations
  • Previous experience managing off-shore RCM vendors and other third-parties
  • Demonstrated ability in managing projects with multi-disciplinary teams, with exceptional relationship-building skills
  • Means to prioritize and adapt to a fast paced environment and changing priorities based on organization growth/need
  • Ability to effectively speak with providers, vendors and employees, and all level of staff within the company
  • Sales enablement and support including pricing, prospect targeting, sales training, and prospect presentations including webinars and group presentations
  • Practical work experience desired in client relations, implementation and support, process planning and improvement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SmartSheet
  • Strong work ethic, well-spoken, compelling and professional
